The interdisciplinary event series DeColonia invites post-migrant communities and cultural practitioners to connect their perspectives. Across three gatherings, experimental spaces – LABS – will emerge as platforms for co-creative, artistic and social engagement with questions of migration, coloniality and belonging.

At its core is the idea of being locally rooted, globally inspired: drawing on the diverse post-migrant communities of Cologne while engaging with international perspectives and experiences. The insights, collaborations and outcomes developed throughout the Labs will culminate in a multi-day festival in December 2026, inviting participants to actively shape and contribute to its programme.
